✅Kanishka was the son of Vema Kadphises
(Kadphises ।। / Vema Kadphises is first to issue gold coin on large scale he was the second king of Kushan Dynasty)

✅Kanishka extended the Kushan power over upper India. 

✅His capitals were at Peshawar aka Purushpura and Mathura. 

✅He was the most famous ruler of Kushan Empire (78 AD - 101 AD) 

✅Also known as Second Ashoka

✅He started an era in 78 AD which is now known as Saka Era and is used by Goverment of India. 

✅Kanishka was a great patron of Mahayana Buddhism.

✅In his reign 4th Buddhist Council was held in Kundalvana, Kashmir where the doctrines of the Mahayana form of Buddhism was finalised. 

✅In his royal court host of scholars found patronage.

☑ Parsva, Vasumitra, Asvaghosha, Nagarjuna, Charak and Mathara were some of them.

Lord Buddha was depicted on his coin.
